No, you don't need a referral from your doctor to see a podiatrist. However, if you have been referred, please bring a copy of the referral letter.

In the initial appointment our friendly podiatrists will go through your past medical history and comprehensive foot examination/s. It will give them the opportunity to get to know you and your feet to provide an effective treatment plan.

For your first appointment we recommend brining:

• A list of your symptoms and questions.
• A list of all your medications and past medical history.
• Any laboratory test reports (X-rays, MRIs or ultrasounds).
• The shoes you normally would wear.

For those with diabetes, it is recommended that you visit your podiatrist at least once a year. Diabetes can lead to numbness, poor blood circulation and ulcers. Podiatrist's are trained to assess nerve damage in your feet, identify specific foot health risks to prevent further complications in the future.

Yes, these appointments are bulk billed for those who have referrals through their chronic disease management plans. To discuss getting a chronic disease management plan, book in with one of our GPs today.
